The list of PlayStation exclusives that the community brings to PCs keeps growing, and now it’s time for one of the console’s most beloved sagas. It is available to download for free: the PC port of the first three Uncharted, gathered in The Nathan Drake Collection, created by SuperMedo, the same developer behind the Bloodborne PC port, and which allows playing Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves, and Drake’s Deception without an emulator, at 120 FPS, and with modern technologies like DLSS 4.5 and FSR 4.
The most striking thing is that the first three Uncharted never officially reached PCs. PlayStation only released on Steam Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection, which includes Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy, so Naughty Dog’s original trilogy, released on PS3 between 2007 and 2011 and remastered by Bluepoint Games for PS4 in 2015, remained console-exclusive until now.
What the Port of the First Three Uncharted Offers
As with Bloodborne, the program runs the original PS4 game code directly on Windows and translates its graphics to Vulkan, relying on the shadPS4 emulator’s render. The first three Uncharted open from a single launcher, which also lets you add them to Steam, create desktop shortcuts, and download updates.
In the graphics department, you can choose between 60 FPS, like on PS4, or 120 FPS, though higher rates are experimental. It also includes TAA anti-aliasing, AMD FSR 3.1, AMD FSR 4 and NVIDIA DLSS, in addition to frame generation with FSR 3 for any GPU and with DLSS, which can double frame rates on the RTX 40 series and multiply them up to four times on the RTX 50 series.
The controls aren’t left behind, because the port supports keyboard, mouse, and gamepad simultaneously, all with remappable buttons, and it even allows moving the camera with the mouse in Uncharted 3. In DSOGaming’s tests, with a Ryzen 5 7500F, 32 GB of RAM, and an RTX 4070 Super, the first three Uncharted ran at 120 FPS in native 1440p.
That said, this is a beta version. In Uncharted 3 there are still green or black figures that flicker for a moment over some characters, an error that, according to the creator, also affects shadPS4, and in Cartagena Square in chapter 2 the game could crash at high frame rates, something that version 0.3 should have fixed. If it still happens, simply drop the rate to 60 FPS in the Display tab.
Requirements and How to Install the Port on Your PC
To play the first three Uncharted on PC you need Windows 10 (version 1903 or higher) or 64-bit Windows 11, a Vulkan 1.3-compatible video card with updated drivers, and about 8 GB of free memory. The package does not include game files, so you must have your own copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for PS4 extracted from the console, with a folder containing the files eboot.bin, big2-ps4_Shipping.elf, big3-ps4_Shipping.elf and the folders sce_sys, u1data, u2data and u3data.
Once you have everything ready, you simply need to follow these steps.
- Go to the port’s download page on GitHub and download the file uncharted-windows.zip of the latest version.
- Unzip the file into a folder on your computer.
- Run Uncharted.exe.
- Choose the folder where you have your copy of the game.
- Select which of the three Uncharted you want to play and press PLAY.
Thus, with the first three Uncharted available on PC, PC players can finally experience the complete Nathan Drake saga, from his first adventure to Uncharted 4, and do so with a fluidity and image quality that surpass the console versions.
